We're Poly Pro's Coatings: two lifelong friends from Livingston County
We're the floor coating company Tyler and Cole started in 2024, out of a shop on Dorr Road in Howell. Cole runs the floors. Tyler runs the quotes. Together we have worked with polyurea and polyaspartic since the product came out.
How we got here
We opened our doors in 2024, and our first floor went down that September. Tyler and Cole have been best friends most of their lives, and both spent years around coatings before starting our company together.
We grew up as the sons of a State Trooper and a U.S. Army veteran. That's where the way we run jobs comes from: show up when we said we would, do the prep nobody sees, and leave the garage cleaner than we found it. When people ask for three words to describe us, we pick confident, professional and disciplined.
Our slogan, from 15 minutes to forever, is about the product. Polyurea and polyaspartic give an installer 15 to 18 minutes once mixed. We'd rather get those minutes right than hurry through another job.
What we do differently
- We train in houseWe brought together installers with lead experience from around the industry, and we teach new people ourselves on our own floors instead of sending them away for a certificate.
- We stick with SimironOur polyurea and polyaspartic come from Simiron through the top distributor in the Midwest. Other makers have asked us to switch. We haven't.
- We won't coat a wet slabMoisture is the one real threat to a coating. If the floor isn't ready, we wait, grind, dry it out and come back.
- We don't rush your colorNarrow it to two or three and we bring extra flake on install day so you can choose in your own light.
- We're independentNo franchise and no national brand behind us. The people who quote your floor are the people responsible for it.
Our shop, and the two who run it
Our shop is at 1870 Dorr Rd, Suite 2, in Howell, right between Howell and Brighton. It's where our trailers load out, where flake gets stocked, and where new installers learn on real concrete.
It's also home to Nova and Boots, two cats we rescued as kittens when we were getting started. Nova handles the mischief. Boots runs the office.
