Concrete patio coatings, porches and pool decks
Outside, a coating has to handle sun, rain, snow and bare feet. Our concrete patio coatings and pool deck coatings use a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat over full flake, so the color holds and the surface keeps its grip when it's wet.

A pool deck, before and after
Before
AfterPool decks take a beating: chlorinated water, wet feet, sunscreen, deck chairs dragged across them all summer. Full flake gives the surface texture, and the polyaspartic topcoat seals it so stains wipe off instead of soaking in.
Outdoor surfaces we coat
- Patios. Back patios off a walkout or slider, including big curved slabs.
- Front porches and stoops. The first thing guests step on, and the first concrete to show salt damage.
- Walkways. Paths along the side of the house and from the driveway to the door.
- Pool decks. In-ground pool surrounds, coping areas and steps.
Why the topcoat matters in direct sun
Epoxy yellows and chalks when it sits in sunlight, which is one reason we don't use it. The polyaspartic topcoat we put on every outdoor job is UV-stable, so a light blend stays light and a gray stays gray. It's also chemical and stain resistant and stands up to Michigan freeze and thaw better than bare concrete, which soaks up water and salt. If you're weighing options, our polyurea and epoxy comparison lays out the differences.
On a patio or pool deck we usually suggest a lighter blend. It stays cooler under bare feet and hides dried water spots better than a dark one.
Weather and timing
Outdoor work depends on the forecast. Concrete holds water after a rain, and moisture is the one real threat to a coating, so we only coat a dry slab. If the weather turns, we move the install to the next good day rather than risk your floor. We'll handle the call on rescheduling so you're not guessing.
Before we come, keep the area clear of furniture, grills and planters, and leave room in the driveway for our trailer.
Outdoor warranty terms. Pool decks and other open outdoor surfaces are covered for 3 years against peeling, chipping, blistering and delamination from our install or the material. Normal weathering and cracks from the slab moving aren't covered. Your quote spells out which warranty terms apply to each surface we coat.

Outdoor coating questions
Full flake gives it texture, which helps traction when it's wet. No surface removes the risk of slipping entirely, especially around a pool.
Any surface warms up in direct sun. Lighter flake blends stay noticeably cooler than dark ones, so we steer pool decks toward light colors.
Yes, concrete steps can be coated to match. Wood steps can be coated too, but wood carries no warranty.
Yes. The polyaspartic topcoat resists salt and chemicals. The care sheet we leave after the job covers winter cleaning.
