What Sets Your Garage Floor Coating Cost
Your garage floor coating cost comes down to two things: how big the floor is and what shape the concrete is in. The coating system stays the same. The prep is what changes, and prep is where an honest quote and a cheap one split apart.
1. Square footage
We price by the square foot, so a one-car garage, a deep two-car and a three-car with a workshop bay all land in different places. If you send photos for a digital estimate, give us your rough square footage. We confirm the measurement when we arrive on install day, and if it comes out different, any change gets agreed on in writing before we keep going.
2. Concrete condition
New or clean concrete with no cracks or pitting is the least prep there is, so it's the best price for your size. Everything after that adds grinder time and repair material:
- Hairline cracks. Cut out with a grinder, stitched so they don't open back up, and filled with polygrout.
- Pitting from road salt. Scattered pits get filled. A floor pitted wall to wall can need a full flood of polygrout.
- Spalling and wider cracks. The flaking top layer gets ground away and the slab repaired back to flat.
- Joints. Saw cuts get cleaned and repaired as needed, then left open where the slab needs room to move.
If we find damage you couldn't see once the grinder is running, we stop and tell you before doing extra repairs. Nothing extra happens without your approval in writing.
3. Old epoxy, paint or sealer
A coating that's already on the floor has to come off where it's failing before anything new goes down. Removing an old surface adds time, and how much depends on what it is and how well it's stuck. If you're dealing with a floor that's peeling or went splotchy, read how we handle failed epoxy floors.
4. Verticals and steps
These are the two add-ons on our garage floors:
- Verticals. Many garages have a concrete curb or block wall that runs 4 to 6 inches up the wall. We coat it and tie it into the floor so the edge looks finished. It's extra square footage, so it's priced on top.
- Steps. Concrete steps into the house, and wood steps too. Each one is priced separately. One note: wood surfaces aren't covered by our warranty.
We don't coat trim.
Getting an actual number
You can have us come out and measure, or skip the visit and send photos. For a digital estimate, text (517) 332-1322 or email info@polyproscoatings.com with:
- One wide photo of the whole floor.
- Your rough square footage.
- Three or four close-ups of any cracks, pitting, spalling or peeling coating.
- Photos of any curbs or steps you want coated.
We answer within 24 hours on weekdays. Weekend requests may wait until Monday.
Use the condition checker. Our homepage has a quick tool that shows what each kind of floor damage means for prep. Check your floor's condition.
Paying for it
Payment is due when the floor is finished. Check or Zelle work with no extra fee.
If you'd rather spread it out, we offer financing through Wisetack. Checking your options is a soft credit pull, so it won't affect your credit score, and Wisetack handles the loan directly.
Comparing quotes? Make sure each one names the same prep steps and the same products. A lower number that skips the crack repair or uses epoxy isn't the same floor. Here's what to ask every installer before you sign.
