Use and Care Instructions
Your new floor is built for durability and easy maintenance. Follow these instructions to protect the polyaspartic finish and keep it looking its best.
After installation
- Garage door: Leave the garage door open until the morning after installation, unless our crew provides different instructions.
- Foot traffic: Wait at least 24 hours before walking on the floor. Depending on temperature, humidity, and site conditions, our crew may extend this to 36 hours or longer.
- Vehicle traffic: Wait at least 48 hours before parking or driving on the floor, unless our crew advises a longer wait.
- Water, cleaning, and coverings: Do not wash the floor, place mats or rugs, or return heavy furniture and equipment until the cure time provided by our crew has passed.
- Keep children, pets, moisture, and debris off the floor during the initial curing period.
- Always follow the specific return-to-use instructions provided by your installation crew.
Routine cleaning
- Sweep regularly with a soft-bristle broom or microfiber dust mop to remove sand, salt, and grit.
- Clean with water and, when needed, a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for coated floors. Follow the cleaner's dilution instructions.
- For stubborn dirt, allow the diluted cleaner to work for the time stated on its label without letting it dry. Gently scrub with a soft nylon brush.
- Rinse thoroughly and remove excess water with a rubber or foam squeegee, microfiber mop, or wet vacuum.
- Avoid leaving puddles on the floor. Standing hard water can leave mineral deposits and water spots.
Spills and cleaning products
- Clean up oil, fuel, automotive fluids, and other spills promptly. Chemical resistance does not mean every substance can remain on the floor indefinitely.
- Avoid bleach, vinegar, acidic cleaners, harsh solvents, aggressive degreasers, and floor-stripping products unless we approve them.
- Do not use wire brushes, steel wool, abrasive powders, or aggressive scrubbing pads.
- Contact us before using a pressure washer or an unfamiliar cleaning product.
Protecting your floor
- Lift furniture, tools, and equipment instead of dragging them.
- Use protective pads beneath furniture and suitable load-spreading pads beneath jack stands or other concentrated metal contact points.
- Keep mats and the floor beneath them clean and dry.
- Protect the coating from hot coals, welding sparks, and other sources of extreme heat.
- Use caution when wet. Water, snow, oil, and cleaner residue can make the surface slippery, even with added traction.
Winter care
- Remove tracked-in snow, slush, sand, and salt regularly.
- Use a plastic shovel without a metal wear strip, a snow broom, or equipment with a rubber edge that prevents metal contact with the coating.
- Do not allow snowplow blades, exposed metal edges, or ice chippers to scrape the coated surface.
- Ask us for an approved ice-melt recommendation. Follow the product's directions and remove residue when conditions allow.
